Maximum Capacity

So, remember how I said the other day that I'd just been eating like there was no tomorrow?

Yeah. So tomorrow came this morning when I stepped on the scale and actually gaped at the number. This is bad. Very, very bad. So, effective immediately, I'm on a treat/junk food moratorium. No more snacking, treating, gorging or anything else.

Now, it is my birthday this month, so I am allowed to treat myself on the appropriate days. But other than that -- no ma'am. I'm back to grilled chicken salads and WW food. In fact, I'm buying a three month WW subscription. The worst part is I have a physical on Friday, and I'm quite sure if nothing else, my blood work is going to tell the tale of my overindulgence. Why is it so easy to put on five pounds, and so freaking HARD to take it off?

It's good that this happened now, though. My friend Amy just announced her engagement yesterday at our small group (YAY AMY & NEAL!), so I'm all in on the dieting thing. It's in support of her. (Thanks, Amy!)

Anyway, I'm posting it here so that it's real. No more junk food. No more gorging. No more delicious bacon cheeseburgers from Red Robin :wails:. No more double stuff oreos.

You heard it here first.

Hey Kati,
I feel your pain...I've been battling my weight for a while now...I just recently started taking something which has helped me big time with my sugar cravings. I have a major sweet tooth...like I usually go rabid if I don't have something sweet to eat...It's better for everyone if I have something sweet...Yeah...so anyways...I found out info from nutrition books about CHROMIUM supplements (they're like super cheap...under $7 at health food stores)...apparently they're supposed to help curb sugar cravings.

Well, I started taking them a month ago...and I can honestly say for the first time in my 27 years of existence that I'm actually quite content without sugar. It's unbelieveable! I've been going on and on everywhere about this stuff...I mean why don't they advertise it? I really don't know...but I'm just thankful since it's helped me get rid of one seriously bad habit. Now I only need to tackle my allergy to exercising and we're golden. :P

I wish you all the luck in your quest for better health.

Happy Reading

Hi Anna! Nice to meet you! I've never heard of Chromium. I'll have to look into it. That's amazing. I have a major, major sweet tooth, so it would be awesome to curb it.

The good thing for me is, if I can break the sugar habit, I can get back on weight loss track really quickly.

Thanks for the well wishes, to you too!

So, I went to the gym yesterday. And may I say that there's little that's as depressing (or perhaps motivational?) as being on a treadmill at a university gym between two 20-year-olds who run for 45 minutes like it's really just nothing. I need to find a different time to go to the gym... I just happened to go when it was packed, and with all young, fit, perfect looking people. Stupid college ;)

Anyway, I'm totally with you. Need to get back on the bandwagon!

Tracy, maybe we can find time to fit in another yoga class next weekend.

I need to get back on the band wagon. I fell off last week and gained a pound and a half. I need to cut out the sugar again too. I’m still down about 15 pounds but I need to lose another 15 to get to my goal weight (which I think I might need to still lose another 5 to 10 pounds *sigh*)

"why is it so much easier to gain 5 pounds than to lose them?"

I DON'T KNOW! if anyone figures this out (without scary pills/machines that dont work) please let me know.

ive put on 20 pounds since my wedding and my biggest motivation to lose them is that i refuse to buy new clothes until i do. so if you see me looking a little shabby that is why ;)

ya know, that pic is SOOOO WRONG in soooo many ways. Like everyone else, I feel your pain.

I'm trying to avoid comfort food, like those damn GS Thin Mints I bought in a moment of SUPREME weakness. And the worst of it!? I was doing so good, I was walking 7 miles a week at 3.4mph I was feeling good, had dropped 10pds and BAM it was over in the space of hours, and now I can exercise until I have a CT Scan and see the doc again.

Getting old is a BITCH. Not cougar at all, just a BITCH.

Mon - LOL! The thing that kills me about the photo is even if the bottoms were where her tan line is...she's still showing a TON of CRACK! LMAO!

Hey! I immediately thought of Dan Akroyd playing the refrigerator repair guy on The Nanny episode where he guest starred for Fran Dresher. They're good friends. AND I just found this out recently, the gal who plays Yetta on the show was Millie on the Dick Van Dyke show!!! How's THAT for TV trivia! LOl

Good luck Kati! I've been slacking a bit lately and have a weigh-in in a week. I'm so close to my goal...

*fingers crossed for all of us*

Kati - I know exactly what you mean. Why is it that winter clothes have so much more room in them to hide those extra five pounds? The weather is getting warmer and now I can see that I've over indulged just a tad.

But my real reason for staying off junk food and drinking LOTS of water are those damn fine lines and wrinkles that aren't so fine anymore. Less sugar makes you look younger. So I'm on a sugar free diet. For how long? Oh, how 'bout forever.
