In Which Kati Ponders...Things

Good morning, Everyone! Hope that each of you is having a good week. I have a bunch of random randomness today.

TV: I checked my DVR last night, I have twelve, count them twelve episodes of TV on it that need to be watched. And that's after I watched Private Practice (why am I sticking with this show when it's perfectly wretched?!) and an episode of The Big Bang Theory last night. I also just read that How I Met Your Mother was renewed for a sixth season. Is anyone else starting to really think it's time to, you know, actually MEET the mother?

Reading: Truth, I've got a review due at the end of this week, and I'm not enjoying the book at all. It's not that it's not well written. Oh no, it is gorgeously crafted. I just...don't really enjoy the author's style. Which means the review is going to be tough for me to write. Unless my level of interest in the story increases. Anyway. To combat the listlessness I feel about this book, I keep picking up OTHER books. First was Kristan Higgins' new release The Next Best Thing. I quite enjoyed it. But it's not my favorite by her. I believed the heroine's issues, but DAMN the hero was perfect and she was all "no thanks, I'm good" which I found frustrating (as usual). Now I'm finally reading Hard to Hold by Stephanie Tyler. And no surprise, I find the hero, Jake to be delicious. I love, love, love me some Navy SEALs. Thank goodness I've got the second book sitting on my shelf.

eReader: My eReader should be delivered tomorrow (Hurray!). I can't wait to load up a couple of ebooks on it and get to reading. First will be Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh (smooches to Nalini for sending it to me early). I'm beside myself to get started. I'll be playing with it all weekend, I'm quite sure.

Movies: I withstood ALL the Twilight drama, refusing to pay good money to see it in the theater or to rent it on Pay-per-View. But it's now on Showtime. I see a viewing of it in my very near future. I really enjoyed the first book, so I'm expecting to enjoy the movie too. Plus, I loves me some broody teen angst.

What's going on with you guys? Anything good? What are you reading?

I watched HIMYM the other week when Rachel Bilson was on and the interwebs were all "Is she the mother!?" NO. She is not. The mother will be revealed in the last 5 minutes of the last episode. And it makes me want to tear somebody's eyes out. I don't care if they continue telling the story about how Ted meets the mother (although I can't believe those kids are still sitting there listening to their Dad tell the story), but ultimately, I wish they would rename the show Barney and just let NPH be in every scene.

Your DVR sounds just like mine. I cleaned mine up just last week and already it's filled with more new shows that I need to watch. I haven't watched PP in I don't know how long (since I believe the first few episodes), it didn't catch on with me. I never got into HIMYM either but after that long, I would think it's time to meet the mother as well.

I need to get my behind in gear and read those Stephanie Tyler books, I keep hearing good things about it and yet I still haven't read it. Gah.

I can't wait to read the KH either, I enjoy her quite a bit.

Ok, so on the tv front, we hold on to Private Practice b/c its sort of like a train wreck, you just have to keep watching to see whats going to happen next.

I'm hoping that we're very close to meeting the mother in HIMYM-- we've seen her ankle, I'm hoping there's more to come. ankle and yellow umbrella aren't much to go on.

PP - well, I have (huge) issues with the first episode and the miraculous cure of one of the patients with a sexual dysfunction disorder. So, no watching PP for me!

I hope you have so much fun with your new eReader! My multi-purpose device - an iPhone - has now arrived *happy dance* so I'll be attempting to set that up this weekend. My problem with technology is that I have to understand it before I want to play with it :)

As for reading...funny you should mention Twilight as I'm reading the third book - Eclipse. I had contemporary romance genre fail last week so picked up Eclipse and so far am enjoying it...mainly because there are lots of Jacob scenes :)

Nadda. However I did finally see Sherlock Holmes over the weekend and I found Jude Law surprisingly hot. That is a first for me and Mr. Law.
