All the News that's Fit to Print

Hey Everyone! Wow! It' s been ages since I did one of these. I have a variety of updates about, well, nothing at all.

Reading: Honestly? I haven't been, much. I read Bed of Roses, which I reviewed for Kate. And I've been carrying around Carolyn Jewel's Indiscreet for about two weeks now, but I just haven't felt much like reading lately. I do have some fun stuff coming up: CJ and I will be doing, um, something with All Through the Night by Connie Brockway. It's one of my Top 10 favorite romances, and CJ's never read Brockway, so this should be lots of fun! And Kate and I are going to do, well, something with Jo Davis's new book, which she read and liked better than the last one (which I hated). I also read Kindred in Death, the new JD Robb. It was a fantastic police procedural, but I feel like the relationship between Eve and Roarke needs some juicing up. This from the girl who prefers them when they're arguing. Overall though, I quite enjoyed the book, and as I said the procedural part was superb.

Television: I recently downloaded some TV shows that I keep being told I simply MUST watch onto my iPod, thinking I'd watch them during the launch activities. I never got to any of them, so last night I decided to watch one on the way home. I finally watched the pilot episode of Glee. And, well, fell in love. Ame has been watching this show since it started, and was adamant that I watch it, but I just hadn't gotten around to it. I loved it, and can already tell I'll be downloading the rest of the episodes to watch, the version of Don't Stop Believin' by Journey in the pilot episode made me so happy! As usual, I'm late to the party. I also have episodes of Mad Men, but I haven't been in the mood lately for a dark and moody show. So Glee fits the ticket perfectly. I don't think it'll replace Modern Family as my favorite new show of the season, but it certainly was a terrific way to spend 45 minutes!

Christmas Town: This weekend, I'm headed to Busch Gardens, which is turned into "Christmas Town" this holiday season. Apparently seven or eight of the countries have been lit. There are four theaters doing shows and there are carolers and musicians roaming and of course, Santa's workshop. I'm looking forward to it, and hoping it puts me a bit more in the holiday spirit. I'm not sure it will measure up to the show that CJ is seeing this weekend. I'm just saying, that's hardcore fandom right there.

Christmas Shopping: I've done none. I know what I'm getting everyone. I just haven't picked it up yet. I'm kind of dreading it.

Football: Ugh. The Skins are awful this year, and at this point, they're playing for pride and a high draft pick. We're playing the Saints this weekend, who just wiped the floor with the Patriots, who are pretty good. So I expect this to be a slaughter. I'm going to try reading during the game, perhaps I'll miss out on some of the horror.

Music: So, I've fallen in love with Darius Rucker's newest release: Alright. This is one of those songs that just makes me super happy every time I hear it. I mean, please, who couldn't love a guy who says I've got a roof over my head, the woman I love laying in my bed and it's alright, Alright?? Cute song, and one that just makes me happy.

Movies: I would like to see the new George Clooney movie Up in the Air. It's gotten good reviews and the trailer was well done enough to get me interested. Next weekend, Mr. Incredible will be turning FOUR! I can't believe it. But to celebrate, we'll be going to see The Princess and the Frog. Is it wrong that I'm so excited about this? Plus, Mr. Incredible = BIG FUN. So I'm looking forward to that as well.

Aaaand, that's all the news that's fit to print for me. What's up with you? Reading anything good? Watching anything good? Listening to anything good? Tell me!

When the Bills fired Dick Jauron I thought of you Kati. I said to My Man, "Wow, I can't believe we fired Jauron before the Skins fired Zorn."

Hardy har har. Seriously, the Bills suck. But at least they threw the ball down the dang field last week and beat the Dolphins.

Am trying to get the DH to give way and let me take the girls to CT the 12th and then pop over to see the lights in Wmbg. Of course I want to ride some roller coasters so I can give my cardiac specialist a shock when I see him in Feb. Bwwwwaaaahahahaha (I'm not really supposed to ride)

As always I'm behind the times, but I'm happy in my own little world *g*

Loving Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. Bones, wow, love him. Chuck is "my" new favorite show. Movies: saw New Moon and 2012. Verdict: NM is worth the price of admission just to see Jacob's abs; 2012 is a huge yawnfest. Even John Cusack couldn't save it.

That's about it. Heading off to Florida Sunday for a business trip.

See, boring as evah!!!

Stacy - I got my hair done today and my hairdresser said that was actual applause and whooping when Jacob takes his shirt off in the movie. LOL! And she said it was mostly from grown women.

Kati - have you watched the series finale of Mad Men? Hold on to your hat - best season finale I've seen in quite a while... had to watch it twice.

I've read Kindred in Death and couldn't agree with you more - I think as far as the procedural aspect of the book J.D. Robb hits it out of the park.

Glad you're on board the Glee train, it's been a fun ride all season. It's quite infectious.

Christmas shopping? What's that? I better get a move on.

Hootie! I love that song too! Even if it's kinda country sounding.
Come over this weekend and see my reno. It's like a different house!
Just re-read If Andy Warhol had a Girilfriend by Alison Pace. That's one book I can read over and over. Love it!
