So, I came home from my vacation with what can only be described as a vicious cold. I feel like crap, and actually called in sick today. So I spent today alternating between lounging in my chair -- which if you've been to my house, you know that my chair is my favorite piece of furniture and is where you're most likely to find me -- and my bed, which I also love. While I was lounging, I watched a couple of movies, "Pride & Prejudice", which I've seen umm...10,000 times, and also "Shut Up and Sing." But mainly I read.
For me, when I'm not feeling well, I love to reread a romance that is on my keeper shelf. The author who has the most books on my keeper shelf is Nora Roberts. There's a very good reason she's sold over 280 million books. Her writing is sharp, and entertaining. Her heroines are immensely likable, and her heroes are delicious. Today I reread Heart of the Sea, which is the third of her Ardmore trilogy. In my opinion, no one writes Ireland better than Nora. While this book by her isn't necessarily my very favorite, it still offered an entertaining and comforting read for me.
How 'bout you? Do you re-read books? If so, what's your favorite? If you read Nora Roberts, which of her books is your favorite?

Oh I love to re-read books it’s the same thing as watching a movie again to me. I LOVE Nora Roberts she is the reason that I read for the most part in general. I was never really into reading till I read my first Nora Roberts and it was one of her many trilogies and by the time I was done with her trilogy I was hooked for good. I couldn’t get my hands on her books fast enough. I have finally broadened my horizons and found other amazing authors but there will always be that special place for Nora books. I have about 14 books to go from reading everything she has ever written.
Well I hope that you feel better, that really is a sucky way to end your vacation.
I do good to make it through a book once, let alone re-read it. I laugh at my parents though - who will make it half way through a book and say, "hey, i think i've read this one before."
Hi Leeann! I'm glad you've been visiting over here! Don'tcha love Nora? She's just such a sure thing for me. She almost never disappoints for me.
Meghan - You've got two kids, it's no wonder you can't make it through a book!
I love re-reading. It's like visiting old friends. :o)
Nora is....well, Nora. She should have her own entry in the dictionary. She is *that* good.
But, Kati darling, how can you read the LAST book in a trilogy?!?
The Ardmore trilogy is wonderful. I love those Gallagher boys and girl. They are a perfect comfort read. So is the Sister Island. However, my fav Nora trilogy (plus one) is the Chesapeake Bay. Ahhh, the Quinns.
Yeah, she doesn't know how to do a bad book, does she? ;o)
LOL! Jules, I'd read the first two before I went on vacation, so really, I was reading in order. No really, I was.
Yes, the Quinns are my favorite too. Who can possible resist Cameron Quinn, I ask you??
She just really knows how to write Irish heroes, and also southern heroes. I loved Duncan Swift from High Noon. All easy going, gorgeous southern boy manners and yet a bad ass at the same time. SIGH. Very satisfying!
I don't love to re-read books but right now I'm actually re-reading Outlander. I know they're not your thing but I have gotten fuzzy on the details so I figured I just brush up. I'm enjoying it this time too!
PS I'm sorry you're not feeling well and BTW you haven't called me since you got back! Maybe I should call you?

That makes me feel a bit better... :p
I haven't read "High Noon" yet but it's on my TBB list. I'm thinking of crash dieting. It takes less time. Although the weight won't stay off, being able to buy books again would make up for it, right? grrrrr
Hope you get feeling better, Sweety. Here's some cyber chicken soup. It's just like mom used to make without the bones. :oD

Awww, Jules, I wish you were closer, I'd get mine back from Sara and give it to you.
But girl, you're gonna be SO gorgeous when you get done losing the weight you want to lose, and then your credit card is gonna take a pounding as you catch up!
